I am always very keen and extremely grateful for donations... anything
from a button to a complete uniform. Some items within the
collection have been given as gifts or donations by relatives of former police officers, who had no further use of the
item. Without donations such as these, items can easily be discarded and by doing so are lost forever, lost for
the future and lost to visitors of the online collection and those who see the collection when used
in public displays. The ultimate aim in building this collection
is to eventually find a permanent home where it can be displayed in its entirety. Many items which get donated to
Museums are often used on a rotational basis or often placed into storage, never to see the light of day
again. I have no plans for this collection to end up hidden away in storage facilities.
Hopefully one day, this collection will find a home where it can be amalgamated along with other related memorabilia BUT importantly at
a place where there is the the capability of display to the general public AND on a permanent basis. I am keen to hear of any suggestions from anyone who may know
of suitable premises that could be considered for the future.
