POLICE FORCES OF WALES

Looking backward...where did it all start? This is a list that I am compiling of ALL civil police forces that have existed at some time or another in Wales. City, town, borough, county, public authority & commercial police forces will be listed. This list is not complete and I would appreciate any information of forces that are not listed. I'm quite confident that some of the small, very early railway companies not yet listed will have had some kind of policeman or switchman. As time permits, I will provide some details. Some organisations may have had only one or two policemen and their duties, early railway companies for example, would have included points changing and also keeping the track clear.
